Mental Health Day
For all my friends, acquantances, various people I have met over the years and anyone else with Mental Health issues, this page is for you:
It is important to know that you are not alone
You are not alone in suffering with these issues and hopefully you are not alone in dealing with these issues.
It is no longer a taboo subject and help is easier to find with every passing year.
It's OK to NOT be OK
Mental health is a huge issue around the Globe and seems to be growing at an exponential rate. Oddly enough, it is a condition that appears to have a higher concentration in first-world countries.
There are so many resources available online to help us deal with these problems but it is not always enough. Or not immediate enough.
I am not a professional counselor, psycologist or psychiatrist but I think I am safe in saying: "If you are having problems with your mental health, please seek professional help. Ask a friend or family member to help you get help."
Don't wait ... do it today"
If you are able to help, raise the subject with your family, your friends or anyone who you think may be vulnerable to the condition.
It may be hard to start that conversation but it's easier than regretting that you didn't
Even just talking about your issues with someone, sharing it with someome may help, even in a small way.
Sometimes finding out why you are suffering helps and knowing that there are many other people out there with similar issues, helps.
Mental Health Month in Australia is October 1 to 31 and World Mental Health Day is October 10.
